DIY Face Mask To Reduce Wrinkles, Dark Circles And Crow’s Feet

Here is an easy DIY face mask to reduce wrinkles, dark circles, and crow’s feet naturally at home without paying for expensive skincare creams. The skin is actually the largest organ in the body and is usually where the first signs of aging appear. You see, as we grow older, our skin tends to lose its elasticity and collagen.

This makes the skin less resilient and signs of aging become more visible. That said, drinking enough water, choosing the right foods, incorporating healthy habits like meditation, and physical activities, and leading a healthy lifestyle can make your body heal from the inside out.

  • 2 tablespoons of organic shea butter
  • 2 tablespoons of organic virgin coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons of 100% pure aloe vera gel
  • ½ teaspoon of vitamin E
  • 10 drops of frankincense essential oil

Preparation & Application

Start by heating the coconut oil and shea butter in the microwave for 30 seconds just so you are able to mix them with your other ingredients easily. Now add in the rest of your ingredients and mix well until even. Empty your mixture into a glass jar that has a lid and once cooled, cover and save it in a cool dry place.

Use this DIY face mask on your face twice per day for the best results. Start by applying a small amount on your face and massaging it in with clean fingertips for 3 minutes. Leave it on for 10-20 minutes before washing it off with warm water. Use a herbal soap to get the rest of the oil off your face.

Note that you can also use this face mask as a cream as well by leaving it on overnight and washing it off in the morning. It does not affect the skin negatively and works on all skin types. That said, if you have sensitive skin, try doing a skin patch test before using this remedy.

To do a simple at-home skin patch test, apply a small amount of the mixture behind your ear or on the upper part of your inner arm. Let it sit for 5 minutes and if you notice any redness, itchiness, swelling, or rashes, it means that you are allergic to one or more of the ingredients. Do not use it on your face.

shea butter

What Does Shea Butter Do To The Face?

Well, simply put, shea butter makes your skin softer and helps your skin lock and absorb moisture. It also contains healing properties, therefore, if you constantly experience inflammation of the skin, using shea butter regularly can help reduce your symptoms.

Shea butter is safe to use for all skin types but you must always use 100% organic shea butter for best results. Also, people with oily skin should not be afraid of using shea butter because it actually helps reduce excess oil and unclog your pores.

coconut oil

What Does Coconut Oil Do To The Face?

Coconut oil is very effective in helping the skin absorb moisture and hydrating the skin. It also helps reduce inflammation in the skin similar to shea butter due to its amazing anti-inflammatory properties. Using organic coconut oil on your face daily can help reduce craftiness and increase collagen production on the face.

Having enough collagen in the skin helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines and slows down the aging process. There is no evidence that proves the effectiveness of coconut oil on wrinkles but research shows that coconut oil does contain antioxidants and vitamins such as A & E which protect the skin from free radicals, and toxins and boosts collagen production.

aloe vera gel

What Does Aloe Vera Gel Do To The Face?

100% pure fresh aloe vera gel is great for keeping the skin on your face moist, removing dead skin cells, and promoting skin elasticity. You see, aloe vera gel helps stimulate fibroblast which aids in the production of collagen. As you know, collagen is responsible for skin elasticity and younger-looking skin.

So apart from making you look younger, aloe vera gel helps with other skin issues as well. Using this amazing gel helps reduce sunburn, acne, and eczema due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Frankincense Essential Oil

What Does Frankincense Essential Oil Do To The Face?

Frankincense essential oil contains anti-inflammatory properties which when applied to the face helps soothes irritated and damaged skin. It is also very effective in restoring the epidermis, treating sunburns, rosacea, and nourishing the skin.

Using this amazing essential oil also helps reduce sebum production in the skin, therefore, is great for people with oily skin. Frankincense essential oil is astringent which means it draws out water from the skin, hence, tightening the skin and pores. That said, using it a lot will have a negative effect on the skin by making it dry.

Now always make sure that you dilute frankincense essential oil with other carrier oils such as coconut, jojoba, or olive oil before applying it to your skin. It should never be applied directly to the skin.

Vitamin E Oil

What Does Vitamin E Oil Do To The Face?

Vitamin E oil helps reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles, especially when in the early stages. It also helps reduce hyperpigmentation and maintains skin health. Appling vitamin e oil to your face overnight reduces inflammation, moisturizes the skin, and makes you look younger.

Using vitamin e oil in your creams or taking it as a supplement will aid in preventing skin damage from the sun and protect your skin from free radicals and toxins.
